Fans of the New Kids on the Block create giant poster of fan pictures.

Fans of the New Kids on the Block create giant poster of pictures (http://nkotb.fanposter.org). The goal of this fan initiative is to show the NKOTB band the faces and voices of Fans from all over the world. Since the announcement of the New Kids on the Block comeback and reunion in April 2008 over 650 Fans from 50 countries have shown the love and support for the band by uploading their best fan picture and cheer. With the start of the 2008 reunion tour the Fanposter is expected to grow and fill quickly - space is limited but still available.

New Kids on the Block

The New Kids on the Block are back on tour and so are the NKOTB Fans: “Hey Guys, WELCOME BACK,we MISSED YOU sooooo much…” shouts Angelique from the USA followed by JayJay from Germany: “We are ready to ROCK with the New Kids on the BLOCK”. Each fan has the chance to occupy one field on the mosaic-like Fanposter. This can be done by simply selecting one of the still available fields and uploading a picture accompanied by a cheer. Fans that are part of the NKOTB Fanposter can send comments to other Fans and vote for the Fan of the Week.

The reunion of the boys from Boston is also a comeback for the Fans, for many a second chance to see, feel and enjoy their idols: “18 years later and a dream has finally come true!” says Ami from Canada, “You make me feel like I’m fifteen all over again!”. Fadmi from Morocco recalls: “I was 12 as I dicovered the New Kids, and was too young to really enjoy beeing an absolute Fan.. but now i am 27 and ready to give them all my support.”

Just how big the NKOTB Fan base around the world really is can be seen by the over 50 countries represented already. “France loves you!!”, “All the brazilians are waiting for you guys!!!”, ‘Greetings from Finland!”, “poland is ready”, “Lots of love from Brunei. ;) “, “Hello from Down Under!! Please come back to Australia!!”, “… hope to c u soon again in Germany!!”

Fanposter.org announces launch of social platform for Fans to create giant poster of Fan pictures

Redlands, CA, May 6, 2008 - Fanposter.org (http://www.fanposter.org) today announced the launch of a new social platform that allows enthusiastic Fans from all over the world to share their passion by creating a new or joining an existing Fanposter. The result is a collage of Fan pictures stiched together to form a giant Poster which can be presented and seen in a popular place. Fanposter.org is the first platform that allows internet users to create online posters where enthusiastic Fans can upload their funniest, craziest or most memorable Fan pictures and thereby connect with other Fans.

“It’s incredible to see so many happy and cheerful Fan pictures being uploaded to Fanposter.org”, says Michael Gaigg, founder of Fanposter.org. “Since our beta release in April more than 2000 Fans have subscribed and uploaded their pictures to one or the other Fanposter on Fanposter.org. The creativity and variety of Fan pictures is sheer endless and I find it hard to let an hour pass by without checking back for new Fans.”

The Fanposter.org platform follows the web 2.0 trend that empowers internet users to create their own content which, in the context of Fanposter.org, is starting an online Fanposter that grows through the continous participation of the fan community. “The real fascination lies in the engagement of the fans that upload so many amazing pictures and to see how your favorite Fanposter grows. It’s also pritty exciting to know that those Fans are located all over the world, there are no boundaries anymore. It is common on a Fanposter to see Fans from over 30, 40, even 70 different countries.”

“Share Your Passion!” is the slogan of Fanposter.org which should encourage Fans to show their passion by creating a Fanposter:
- For their favorite sport, game, activity
- About movies, bands, teams, cities,
- Their classroom, company, club
- Upcoming parties, concerts, events

Popular Fanposters include the New Kids on the Block (http://nkotb.fanposter.org/), 2006 World Cup Fanposter (http://2006worldcup.fanposter.org/), B5 (http://b5online.fanposter.org/), Dierks Bentley (http://dierks-bentley.fanposter.org/) or the recently added 2008 Eurocup Fanposter for the Soccer Cup in Austria/Switzerland later this year (http://euro2008.fanposter.org/).

Who is a winner?

I know it’s tough. All of us are great fans, we are all dedicated and have memorable pictures. But something tells me that some Fans are bigger Fans and show more support. So who is the true winner? Who owns the ultimate Fan Picture? Every day you can use your 5 votes to decide. And the best part of it is, you have five votes for each Fanposter.

Create your own Fanposter, share your passion!

We all are Fans of something or somebody, we are passionate, become excited, enthusiastic and cannot sleep as the event or reunion approaches. You probably all found yourself in the same situation that you constantly think how it will be or what you can do when the moment arrives. It’s like Xmas, the excitement of waiting for the big event becomes almost greater than the event itself. And certainly the greatest pleasure of all is being able to share these moments with fellow friends and fans.

As an absolute football (soccer) fan I was in exactly this situation. I couldn’t wait until the 2006 Soccer World Cup in Germany would start and didn’t want to hold back my excitement just because the games weren’t on yet. I knew there are thousands of like-minded fans somewhere out there and I wanted to unite with them - the idea for the 2006 World Cup Fanposter was born. Over the next months almost 1000 Fans from over 70 countries uploaded their pictures - and they were they greatest pics of all (see for yourself).

Ok now, before my passion drags me away again, the Fanposter platform gives you the unique opportunity to do the same, to connect with Fans from all over the world, collect their best fan pictures and stich them together to form a gigantic poster which can be presented and seen in a popular place.

Who can create a Fanposter and for what?

Everybody can create a Fanposter, it only takes one quick step and it’s free, it doesn’t cost a penny unless you decide to upgrade it to a bigger size. As for the subject only your imagination is the limit. Create a Fanposter for

  • your favorite sport, game, activity
  • about movies, bands, teams, cities
  • your classroom, company, club
  • upcoming parties, concerts, events

What comes next is the fun part of it… Watch your Fanposter grow, see how fellow fans upload their pictures, send comment and start loving it. I certainly do :)

The absolute highlight for every Fanposter creator is getting the opportunity to print and hang the real poster. In the case of 2006 World Cup Fanposter it was truly fantastic. With the help of many dedicated people a beautifully printed Fanposter in the enormous size of 3×2 meters (125x 80 inch) was printed and displayed on the day of the Final game (July 2006) in the incredible location of the ‘Fanmile’ in Berlin.

You can do the same!

All it needs is your passion and dedication. Start creating a Fanposter NOW and tell us your story behind it. We are going to write about the best, most creative, innovative, supportive, funny, successful Fanposters right here on this blog!
